This Canadian Wood Council (CWC) webinar introduces the available design tools, software, and publications that CWC produces for architects, engineers, builders, and designers. Attendees will gain specific knowledge about free online tools such as the Wall Thermal Design Calculator and Carbon Calculator along with software and publications to support building with wood.

Wood is by far the preferred building material for residential construction in North America and is becoming increasingly popular in commercial and industrial construction.  A host of building types including schools, warehouses, factories, offices, stores and recreational facilities are well suited to wood construction.

Four learning objectives:

  1. Become exposed to the different online design tools, software and publications that CWC produces for the design community.
  2. Understand how to use the online Wall Thermal Design Calculator and Carbon Calculator.
  3. Provide an overview of the Wood Design Manual, Introduction to Wood Design, Engineering Guide for Wood Frame Construction, Permanent Wood Foundations publications.
  4. Learn the capabilities of WoodWorks® Design Office software.
