Mass Timber VR Experience

Nationwide
Available Anytime

Would you like your students to experience a mass timber building, but don’t have one nearby to tour? Now you can tour one from your own classroom.  Think Wood has developed an immersive new way to introduce students to the world of mass timber: Using Meta Quest VR headsets, this virtual reality experience gives students the ability to explore mass timber fabrication and construction processes in an interactive digital environment.

The experience begins in an immersive digital central lobby—modeled after a real mass timber building—that users can move through to see the exposed mass timber elements and how they fit together. From there, users can visit two immersive stations: one showcasing the fabrication of glulam, NLT, DLT, and CLT products, and another walking through the full mass timber construction process from delivery to on-site assembly.

An intuitive on-screen menu allows students to reposition themselves and explore the lobby and these education stations from any angle, making mass timber fabrication and construction accessible and engaging—all without leaving your classroom or studio.

Whether you teach structures, materials, or studio, this virtual reality experience is a powerful way to deepen student understanding of timber innovation through firsthand, immersive learning.

Headsets and a pre-loaded laptop can be loaned to faculty at no cost; contact education@thinkwood.com for more details.
